Mobil Reid and Mills petrol station in Rotorua will cease operating with staff from May 19, 2026, becoming an unmanned facility. The station, located on the corner of Fenton Street and Te Ngae Road, represents another shift in the fuel retail sector toward automated operations.

While Mobil has not officially confirmed the closure, staff members report that the station will transition to unmanned operations from 7am on May 19, with windows to be boarded up and remaining stock transferred to the nearby Mobil Sunset location. The move eliminates convenience items such as food, drinks, and ice from the Reid and Mills site, marking the end of full-service operations at the long-serving Rotorua fuel outlet.
